‘Inside Outdoors’ with Don Jordan, Buddy Bill, and Rich Reardin. Inside Outdoors gives you everything you need to know about the outdoors: hunting, fishing, local and national outdoor news, the environment, natural resources, issues, and just down home family fun. Inside Outdoors is a fun and informative way to learn about what nature has to offer, and how to be a good steward. Inside Outdoors is underwritten by Morrisons Appliances and Service.
As a journalist, Don Jordan has written his weekly newspaper outdoors column, Inside Outdoors, since 1973 when he worked for the now-defunct Bloomington IndyCourier-Tribune. The column has appeared in many other newspapers since 1975. He has been an active member of the Outdoor Writers Assn. of America since 1973.
Jordan served as a corresponding editor of Environment magazine and has written for a wide variety of outdoor, sports and environmental publications. He has received reporting awards from the Audubon Society, the Izaak Walton League and United Press International. He was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in 1976 for his investigative reporting on PCBs discharged in Bloomington, Ind., by Westinghouse Electric Corp. As an educator, Jordan taught journalism and anthropology at Indiana University and the University of Wisconsin at Superior, and was a faculty member at Indiana University’s College For Gifted and Talented Children. Don now co-hosts a broadcast version of his column, Inside Outdoors Radio, on PRX (Public Radio Exchange), and locally in Bloomington, Indiana.
Indy is a Vietnam vet. He served with the 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) and the 173rd Airborne Brigade as an infantry lieutenant and commander of the 46th Public Information Detachment at Bong Son in 1970. He received the Bronze Star and Army Commendation medals.
Buddy Bill Moser:
Buddy Bill is a local angler, and hunter, who ran “Buddy Bill’s Bait Barn” for many years, a staple bait shop for Lake Monroe. Bill was a dairy farmer in his early life, and has worked for the Indiana DNR, Dept. of Highways, and served on local school boards. Bill’s experience with hunting and fishing is a lifelong, and his knowledge of the area is acute. He is well known by just about everyone, and goes to Wyoming often to hunt deer, elk, and antelope as well as fish. Buddy Bill has given his “Lake report” on the radio for many years, starting on WFHB community radio, and eventually co-hosting ‘Inside Outdoors’ with Don Jordan, and Rich Reardin for 14 years on WGCL AM1370 and FM 91.6 in Bloomington, Indiana. Now on PRX (Public Radio Exchange).
Rich is a radio producer, radio host, outdoors photographer, web designer, graphic artist, and musician. Rich originally conceptualized a fishing radio show called “Outdoors Today” with then hosts Buddy Bill Moser, and Phil Rambo in 2002. It soon became “Inside Outdoors” when Mr. Rambo left the show and was replaced by Don Jordan. The show continued for 14 years locally in Bloomington, Indiana, until it moved to PRX (Public Radio Exchange) and national affiliates. Rich is an environmental activist, especially in supporting the stopping of Mountain Top Removal coal strip mining in Appalachia, creating and maintaining a website for the film “Coal Country”. Along with the other hosts, Rich has tirelessly spoken up against corruption, in support of the management of our natural resources, and family values in regards to helping folks appreciate and use the outdoors respectfully.
Inside Outdoors is the trademarked title of Don Jordan’s newspaper and other media communications. Inside Outdoors is used here with the owner’s permission.
